The article about the accident that took Thomas's life.
Speed might have played a  role in the two morning accidnets in
Morth Toledo, including a fatal crash at North Summit and Erie
Streets.
Thomas Herman, 19, of 325 Adrian St. was pronounced dead
at the scene of the crash, which happened about 2:15 a.m.  He
and another passenger, Matthew Davis 18, of 317 Albany St.,
were thrown from the back seat of the car Mr. Davis was in critical condition last night at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center,
a hospital spokesman said.
The driver. Michael Ibanez 18, of 4818 imperial Drive, was in
fair condition at Toledo, Hospital.  The other two passengers,
Brian Schwartz, 19, of Sylvania Township, and Lee A. Pasker 11, 22, of 428 New York Ave., were treated at Toledo Hospital, authorities said.
Their car was traveling north on Summit at a high rate of speed
when it went airborne over railroad tracks.  Mr. Ibanez lost control when the car landed, Police said.  The car went off the east side of the road, hit a wooden utility pole, went airborne
again by going up a guy wire of another pole, shearing off the top of the pole, police said.
The rear door on the driver's side was ripped open, and Mr.
Herman and Mr. Davis were thrown from the car, which stopped accrosse Erie.  A witness told police that the men, who
were acquaintances, were traveling 90 mph, Sgt. Paul
Kerschbaum said.  Police said it began to rain prior to the
accident.

God has not promised
skies always blue,
flower-strewn pathways
all our lives through;
God has not promised
sun without rain,
joy without sorrow,
peace without pain.
But God has promised
strength for the day,
rest for the labor,
light for the way,
Grace for the trials,
help from above,
unfailing sympathy,
undying love.

Why Hate Me?
Why hate me for being color
why hate me for protesting my right
as I am a black man as you
are white as I blend into
the color of night I stand my ground
both feet from standing in sinking soil
as I pray to the lord asking him
to forgive me of my sins
and have patience because
peace will come!!!

THOMAS
Together we shared much love
and laughter.
Hope you gave each day that the
next one will be better.
Overly protectiveness you gave
to everyone you loved.
Matured and grow into the
handsome man you've
become.
Alluring the girls with you charm
to make them fall madly
in love with you.
Structure you held on to, teaching and
spreading guidance to the
people around you.

In Loving Memory Of Thomas Anthony Herman
When Thomas came into this world he would crinkle his
little nose and always looked so mean.  When he started
walking he pretended he could not so he could be carried.
Then you could see the gears shifting in his mind as he was
thinking of clever ways to work out problems that would not
take much work.  When he hit his terrible two's and three's
I would take him outside to play on the swings.  The he
would just disappear, all you had to do was look up and se
him, the sthletic part of him, as he walked accross the top
bar.  I slways swore he would be the death of me, But
life went on.  I could see the agility in his stance, in his
jumps as he always landed on his feet.  The way he would
try to protect his older sister and younger brothers and
sister.  He gave us so much strenght and love, mostly
understanding.  The way he care about people around
him and the trust he would show.  I learned in the end
of his life, about all the lives that he touched.  As I heard
from his f riends and others the things that he said and did
that I actually helped him to achieve.  I just want to that
my son for letting me be so proud of him, and letting
me be a part of his life for 19 1/2 years he was here.
Thomas we will always love you and you will definetly be missed.
With all my Love,
GOODBYE
REST IN PEACE MY SON
